Pricing for IT hardware continues to rise, driven by high demand for key components such as memory, storage, and GPUs (largely fuelled by the rapid growth of AI). This has resulted in increased costs and reduced availability for many computer systems across multiple brands and models.

Did you know that 80% of current cyber attacks involve identity, and around half of all successful breaches start there? A year ago, most security strategies focused heavily on the endpoint (your computers, laptops, phones etc). A clear warning for small businesses across Australia: cyber attacks are still on the increase. Cyber Wardens (an Australian Government initiative) has released their 2026 report that highlights the growing risks of AI and cyber attacks.
Protecting your business doesn’t have to be complicated. The Cyber Wardens program offers a free, government-backed training module that takes just 10 minutes to complete and provides practical steps every small business can take to reduce cyber risk.

One of our Sydney techs, Fahim, travelled to Pakistan for a holiday, and we updated our M365 portal settings to allow his login (as we normally block all countries except Australia for security). What we didn’t update was one of our additional security products, Huntress.
As a result, the Huntress SOC (Security Operations Centre) spotted the overseas login attempt and called David’s mobile at 4:30 AM to verify the activity! A good reminder that layered security works, sometimes a little too well.
Techs on the town! Some of our team took a break from screens and cables last month to attend the Adelaide Fringe show "TechnoSerf Uprising". Plenty of laughs were had (even without any photos to prove it!).
We’re planning to check out “No More Mr IT Guy” this month, and hopefully David remembers to take some snaps this time.
And yes… both shows are IT-themed, getting geeks away from their keyboards at night is a challenge!
Learning from the best.
David and Sean also had a fantastic one-on-one session with Robert, a Microsoft MVP (Most Valuable Professional) in M365 who was visiting from Sydney. Over dinner and some drinks, they had a great opportunity to pick his brain on the current state of IT, the direction M365 is heading, and what the future might look like for businesses.
